New Years Resolutions 2018

The new year brings most of us to think about the resolutions we want to make to enable us to live a life more in tune with how we view our best selves. For the majority of us, our desires will centre around health, well-being, happiness, career, relationships and let’s face it appearance. Many of us are in the habit of making the same resolutions every year adamant that this year things will be different. As Albert Einstein famously said, “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

So if you are looking for ways to make 2018 more memorable here are some useful ways to make sure your new year’s resolutions are meaningful, achievable  and  come to pass:

  1. Reflect on 2017

Self-reflection can support us to deepen our self-respect, understand what has had real meaning for us and how we can enable ourselves to achieve even in challenging circumstances.

  • What are you most proud of in 2017?
  • What happened during 2017 that you are most grateful for?
  • What risks did you take that paid off?
  • What did you learn from the challenging times that this past year created?

  • What healthy and helpful habits do you put in place that were of support to you?

      2. Reflect on what you would like to achieve next

Imagine it is the end of 2018, what would you love to say you had achieved in the year gone by?

  • What have you achieved in 2018 that you are most proud of?
  • How does that feel?
  • What sacrifices did you make to achieve this?
  • What strengths did you utilise to achieve this?
  • What supports did you put in place to enable you to achieve this? Working with a Life Coach can support you to get clearer on what you want to achieve and how you can achieve it. They will support and challenge you while holding you accountable to your goals.
