Patricia Tiernan is a qualified Career and Life Coach with over 15 years experience in Human Resources. She owns and runs a successful Coaching and Training business, Leap Coaching. Her educational qualifications include an MSc in Personal and Management Coaching from University College Cork, a BSc in Business Information Systems from UCC, and a Diploma in Human Resource Management from Dublin Business School.
Patricia is a qualified Occupational Personality and Ability Assessor and is accredited by The British Psychological Society. She honed her Career Coaching skills by completing the GoTo Career Coaching training programme in Dublin and is also a trained NLP Practitioner and qualified Trainer. She has completed a professional certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with PCI College in Dublin and uses a Cognitive Behavioural Coaching (CBC) approach to personal and career coaching.
Outside of Ireland, she has worked in America, New Zealand, China and France. Her HR experience includes working in the Travel Industry as an HR Manager for USIT in Dublin and as an HR Advisor for the Film Post Production company, Park Road Post owned by Peter Jackson in New Zealand. She has worked as an in-house recruiter for the multinational computer company, Apple and within the e-commerce industry while working for SportingbetIreland. She’s also lectured in Business Studies for Tengda in Henan University, China.
As an in-house Recruiter for Apple, she interviewed more than 1,000 people from across Europe, using behavioural interview techniques. Her background in recruitment has ensured that the CV writing and interview skills training that she provides enable people to clearly demonstrate unique skills to their prospective employers. In her role as a coach, she has supported people from across all sectors from Entry Level to Senior Executive to achieve their personal and career goals.
Her strength is her ability to intuitively understand and relate to people from all walks of life. Through active listening and supporting clients to understand what they need and what may be holding them back, she helps empower them to take positive action. She is passionate about gently assisting clients to think more clearly and to identify and achieve their goals.
